How to Make A Graphics Site/ 1:46 PM Thinking of opening a graphics site? Think you have what it takes? NO, YOU DON'T. Or you might. Check here. Requirements: -_- 1. HTML/CSS knowledge Java, iframes is just extra. HTML is all you need, but anything else is useful. Know basic html, like tables, and how to put images. Otherwise, you're screwed. If you don't know what html is, give up now. 2. Graphic-making abilities. Creativity is a must. And resources are a must.Like Photoshop, Paintshop..etc. If you're making those kinds of graphics. If you're making myspace layouts or something, and don't want to make your own images (lazy and unoriginal, but do what you want), then make sure you know how to use html wisely. 3. A host. Some hosts cost money. I recommendfreewebs.com Especially if you're just starting out. (Make sure when choosing a layout, you say that you already have a code and don't need a template.) There are other sites like geocities, and so on. If you want your own DOMAIN NAME, like celeny.com or mygraphics.com or HOTLYTS.com, then you'll have to pay for the .com There are various places to get the .com. Just google 'domain name'. Unless you want something FREE. For instance, somethingsomething.CO.NR THE LAST THING YOU WANT IS FREEWEBS.COM/MYSITE It's ugly. It's fine when you're just starting out, but having a domain name is more memorable and attractive. -Make sure links are in sight, easy to find.4. Make a layout. Simple and Sweet does the trick. DO NOT MAKE YOUR LAYOUT MESSY AND HARD TO NAVIGATE. -Color coordinate. In fact, browsing around and finding color palettes might be smart. Try not to make anything TOO bright or TOO dark. Make sure that you can also read the text. You don't want yellow text on a gold background. -_- Come on. 5. BEFORE GRAND OPENING, have a few pages up and running with at least 4 graphics on each. Advertise like crazy. Everywhere. Forums. Make ads. It will make you KNOWN. 6. KEEP A STEADY FLOW OF GRAPHICS. At least 5 a week. Hire Staff. They'll help. Make sure they don't ruin your layout though. 7. Make AFFILIATES. Find other sites like your own. Affiliate them. Make sure you fit their requirements for affiliates. Most sites have a page with information on it. Have a button with with your site name on it, and a nice design. Get the site's button you want to affiliate with, and put it on your site. It's like another way of advertising almost. 8. DO NOT TAKE/STEAL OTHER PEOPLE'S : CODES PICTURES LAYOUTS anything without CREDITING THEM or with PERMISSION. You WILL be put on a blacklist. That is EXTREMELY EMBARRASSING. All in all: Have an attractive layout. Advertise. Keep a steady flow of graphics. If you need any help, ask me. >_> Keep at it, and you should become successful.
